2 Samuel 11
PassageKing David has a remarkable history. He is revered as the greatest king of Israel. He was a great leader, he prayed, listened to and obeyed God. He was known as an man after God’s heart. He stood up for and took care of the people of Israel. However, today we take a look at a point in his life where he went away from God’s direction.
David disconnected from God’s given purpose and went from serving people to using them. The story about Bathsheba and Uriah is one of the lowest points in David’s life. Nathan exposed this through a story to help David see what he had done, David realized his sin and was willing to accept the consequences.
How often do we get absorbed into our own lives and forget what God has done for us? We start living for ourselves and use others for our pleasure and gain. this prevents us from experiencing God’s work in and through us. What causes us to reach that turning point of disconnection? Let us realize when we have disconnected and turn back to God as David did.
