Exodus 11-15
PassageThe Exodus from Egypt to the Promised Land was relatively short when you look at the map. However, God knew His people, and the potential for conflict along the way would probably discourage them into turning back. So He leads them through the wilderness instead. There they could see His glory and strengthen their faith, building a stronger relationship.
We see that although Moses was chosen by God to be the leader of His people, he had some flaws. These shortcomings allowed God to be the focus, not Moses’ leadership. We see God along the way as He brings the people out of Egypt, fights for them and saved Israel from the Egyptian army. Once they reached the other side of the Red Sea, and the Egyptians were beaten, the people recognized that it was their God, Yahweh, who guided and delivered them.
As we face challenges and adversity we can either look to ourselves and seek pity, or we can look to our God to see what He is doing through us.
