Job is believed to be the oldest writings of the Bible. Based on the content and descriptions provided, the story of Job falls around the time of Abraham, preceding the writings of Moses. The book covers the events of Job, who was “blameless and upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil.”

Most of us have heard of the tragedy he faced, and how he remained trusting of God through it all. this encounter covers information of how people of God behaved without having scripture or formal religion before the time of Moses. There are many beliefs and practices discussed that may or may not align with core beliefs elsewhere in the Bible.

As we begin this study of Job, let us zero in on God’s character and get to know Him more intimately.
