1 Kings 12

Passage

Rehoboam, Solomon’s son, has become king of Israel and is being challenged by Jeroboam for leadership. Rehoboam is faced with a choice on how he will lead, but instead of seeking God’s advice he is influenced by his peers. The result is a split kingdom where Jeroboam leads the 10 tribes to the north and Rehoboam is limited to two in the south.

Rehoboam and Jeroboam both sought counsel on how to lead, but they listened to biased information and followed their own selfish desires. We are confronted with choices daily and are being influenced by those around us. How do we discern the Truth from Lies?

Many people around us, even in our families, have been drawn to the lies the enemy wants us to believe. What can we do to help ensure we are staying in the Truth? How can we draw those back to Jesus as an influencer for the Kingdom?
