Job 24:13-17
PassageThis dialog from Job shows his struggle with injustice until he discovers the correlation between sin and darkness. He sees that our sinful nature has a tendency to show itself during dark times when we think no one can see what we are doing. This darkness becomes our friend to help hide our behavior from others.
However, as followers of Jesus, we are told to be a light unto the world, but how can we do that when we still harbor darkness as a friend. Scripture provides the answer through confession and love for one another, which allows Christ to be the light in us.
