Job 3-14
PassageJob’s friends initially had the right approach to Job’s crisis; they kept silent and were there for him. However, once Job opened the dialog they each had their idea of how to “fix it”. Eliphaz took the approach to just wait and God will take care of it. Bildad implied there must be something hidden in your past that God was caused this to happen. And Zophar just comes out and tells Job he must have done something he needs to repent for.
Many times we are similar in our approach to a crisis, especially when it is someone else’s. Why don’t we stop and ask God what he wants to show us in the situation? Or what does God want to teach us? Many times the crises we face are an opportunity to allow God’s grace to flow through us and demonstrate how God has, and is working in our lives. Every day God provides a chance for us to witness to others. We should embrace those opportunities to grow closer to God and draw others into the Kingdom.
