Psalms 1:1-3

Passage

Psalms opens up with the statement that “Blessed (or Happy) is the man who…”. This is qualified with how we should live in order to benefit from God’s glory. We should not live immoral lives following the desires of our hearts, but instead follow after God’s heart. Many people today get lost in chasing after our own selfish motives. distracting us from focusing on how God’s law was designed to bless us.

God’s promise in this is that we will be like lush trees planted next to streams of water, constantly nourished by God’s word. This blessing should produce the fruit of the spirit in us so we can be a blessing to others.
